I make things to understand how things work. Sometimes they become learning experiences. Sometimes software, music, games, or tools. Red Work Atelier is where those threads meet.
I'm Rath, an educator, instructional designer, developer, and lifelong maker. This is a home for the work I've finished, the experiments still on the bench, and the ideas that keep sending me down new rabbit holes.

Red Work Atelier / Introduction
× Welcome to the inside of my head.
I'm Rath. This is the place where the things I make, the things I'm learning, and the things I can't quite stop thinking about get to live together.
I've spent sixteen years teaching high school, built software and learning experiences, made music, animated stories, and followed more creative detours than I can reasonably account for. Red Work Atelier is my attempt to give that work a coherent home without sanding off the interesting differences.
You might have arrived through an educator resource, an album, a professional connection, or sheer accident. Wherever you came from, you're welcome to look around. The archive holds the work. Field Notes hold some of the thinking. The Studio is where you can learn more about the person connecting those threads.
What am I working toward? More finished work that other people can use, play, learn from, or build upon. I'm developing interactive learning experiences and creative tools, growing my Blender add-ons, and continuing to make and preserve music. I'm also looking for meaningful work in instructional design, learning experience design, and educational technology.
What kind of connection am I looking for? Good conversations, thoughtful collaborators, people who care about their craft, and opportunities to make something useful. I'm interested in the person behind the professional label, too. Curiosity, humor, kindness, and a willingness to change your mind go a long way with me.
What's with all the different kinds of work? They're different expressions of the same habit: understand a system, find an interesting question, make something, and see what it teaches me. I don't think every project needs to justify its existence by fitting a single market category. Sometimes the connection only becomes obvious after you've followed a few threads.
